Postdoctoral position in N isotope biogeochemistry

The Department of Marine Sciences at UConn, Avery Point is seeking a postdoctoral scholar beginning January 2017 or later to study nitrogen isotope fractionation in cultures of marine microbes. The candidate will work with Dr. Julie Granger to query nitrogen isotopic fractionation at the organism and enzyme level. Specific research projects are open for discussion. Minimum Qualifications

Completion of a Ph.D. in oceanography, microbiology, enzymology or closely related area ; and experience with microbial culturing techniques, with instrumentation and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with measurements of natural abundance stable isotopes on a mass spectrometer.

Appointment Terms

The postdoctoral position is for one year with the possibility of extension to two years. The position offers a competitive salary with generous health benefits.
